Hey girls it's Sunday! I'm leaving for camp today at 5:30 AM and I'm unsure if I will be able to post a blog later tomorrow so that's why I'm posting early-ish. I don't know if I'll be able to blog for the next two weeks so we'll find out! I've been watching vidcon online because I wasn't able to go and it's still brilliant. Just watching the concerts live is excellent, but I still wish I was actually there in person.
Hannah chose the theme "your favorite food." I'm a complete wanna-be foodie so it's a good topic for me. I'm going to go with several categories because I'm horrid and choosing just one thing.
1. Sentimental Foods
My favorite foods that bring me memories are Hot Dogs with macaroni and cheese and the chocolate cookies that the recipe is passed down through my family.
My fetish with hot dogs with macaroni and cheese probably started in New Jersey where we always went to my favorite restaurant, Friendly's. They had simply the best hot dog ever and paired with macaroni and cheese it's delicious. Now, nearly Everytime my friends and I have a sleepover or movie fest at my house we have hot dogs and macaroni and cheese for dinner. It's easy to make and everyone likes it. (Well, almost everyone. My boyfriend hates cheese. He's such a weirdo)
My family's chocolate cookies are just amazingly delicious and we make them about twice a year. They're just pretty much a delicious dark chocolate cookie rolled in powder sugar and then baked. As a child my mom made the cookie dough and I rolled in the sugar. I remember just devouring them when they were hot and fresh out of the over when I was little. Although they are amazing, I'm going to work on improving them to see if they can be even more delicious.
2. Best Dessert
The best thing I ever ate in a restaurant is most recently this delicious dessert at a local restaurant called Zianos. Their featured dessert is chocolate chip cookie dough baked in a small circular pan then topped with layers of ice cream, whipped cream, and chocolate fudge. It's simple and delicious. And they so have a secret because I've tried to make several different versions and it's never as good.
3. Favorite Home Meal
I love taco day, it's absolutely delicious. I mean, TACOS. 'Nuff said.
4. Best Cake Ever
The best cake EVAR is the chocolate fudge cake at a McCafree's in New Jersey. It's the best cake I've ever had ever in my life and it's one of the main reasons I didn't want to move to Indiana years ago.
5. Favorite Vegetable
Steamed Broccoli, lightly salted and buttered. Smokey Bones has the best Broccoli. Cheesecake Factory does not have good broccoli
6. Favorite Drink
MILK
7. Favorite side dish
Mashed Potatoes
8. Best Bread
Okay, it's between those amazing cheddar biscuits at Red Lobster or the amazing bread baked by Mrs. Harkenrider, my friend's mom
Okay, I've done talking about food. I like this theme and I look forward to reading everyone elses blogs.
Jasmine, I will (hopefully) read you tomorrow

"I'm not sure a book has ever changed me," said Will. "Well, there is one volume that promises to teach one how to turn oneself into an entire flock of sheep-"
"Only the very weak-minded refuse to be influence by literature and poetry," said Tess, determined no to let him run wildly off with the conversation.

ReplyDeletemmm... *salivates* This is gonna be a good week. lol
ReplyDeleteI love Friendly's hot dogs, we eat there pretty much everytime we go to New Jersey. Which is often since most of my relatives live there and also my Dad used to work there and he likes telling random stories about it to us.
