Hey girls, it's Tuesday. First things first, my punishment for not blogging last week. You guys decided to have me dress up like a moose and then make my best moose sound. I can't say that my costume or my moose sounds are at all accurate... but they are definitely embarrassing. So without further ado, I present "Tenley the Moose":
Moving on, this week is BOOK WEEK! My favorite topic. Currently I've been reading "The Last Little Blue Envelope" by Maureen Johnson because I won an advanced reading copy last year through Accio Books and let me tell you, it's amazing! I'm not totally finished yet, because I had to stop and write this blog, but I'm about three quarters of the way through and loving every second of it. Specifically, I'm loving every second of the new character Oliver (crushes on fictional characters FTW!).
I also went to the library recently and checked out "The Astonishing Adventures of Fanboy and Gothgirl" and "Kind Dork". I haven't started either of them yet but they both sound awesome and I'll be sure to keep you posted.
Last weekend I explored a local used bookstore for the first time. I know what your thinking, "if it's local, why haven't you explored it before?" Well, it is local, but its on the other side of town and I don't go down to that area much. But I'm glad I did because its unbelievably awesome. I got several books including a copy of "The Great Gatsby" for 4.99. I've read the book already, twice actually. Once in my Junior year of high school and once on my own shortly after my senior year, but I've never owned the book. Now however, I own it and I can highlight like crazy and it will be wonderful.
Books that haven't come out yet but that I'm excited for, include: Maureen Johnson new series coming out later this year, I think in the fall and Tina Fey's book of short comical essays. Seriously, Tina Fey is probably the only actress/actor who could write a book that I'd actually buy.
Finally, I think I'll leave you with my top ten favorite books. This was incredibly hard because I love so many books, but this is what I came up with.
1. "WinterGirls" by Laurie Halse Anderson
2. "The Catcher in the Rye" by J.D. Salinger
3. "I am the Universe" by Barbara Corcoran
4. "Speak" by Laurie Halse Anderson (I really like Laurie Halse Anderson)
5. "Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix" by J.K. Rowling
6. "Stargirl" by Jerry Spinelli
7. "Boy Meets Boy" by David Levithan
8. "Before I Fall" by Lauren Oliver
9. "Will Grayson, Will Grayson" by John Green and David Levithan
10. "The Great Gatsby" by F. Scott Fitzgerald
Yeah... I think that's accurate. Although, already I'm thinking of books that I left out. But that will do for purposes of this blog. Emily, I'll read you tomorrow.
