Oh Dear.

Hey bloggers, it's Monday.

So I'm leaving for Hawaii in a couple of hours, so I decided to make my entry as soon as it turned from Sunday to Monday. I was expecting something easy to write about, and that I could make it to the point and with less rambling. BUT IT IS INEVITABLE. This week's theme is really intense for me because I have way too many favorite things.

Yikes.

One of my favorite things that I always proclaimed my love for.. are strawberries. I love strawberries. Everything about it fascinates me and the whole concept blows my mind. Y'all probably think I'm a little nuts because I'm crazy about a fruit. The subject of strawberries is a little complicated for me to explain but they mean a lot more to me than just a yummy fruit. For example, I see it as a symbol and as an icon. It's difficult to explain, but something about strawberries are very alluring and seductive to me. I love how it's featured in the media. For example, Strawberry Fields? I also love The Beatles, but that's another story.

I'm kind of rushing, and I apologize for the hasty and badly written blog entry. I'll make it up, and I know this isn't nearly as good as Katie's.

Tenley, I'll try to read you tomorrow. Forgive me!

Let's Get Down to Business

And defeat! The Huns!

Anyone remember that Disney movie, Mulan? I always wanted to dress up as her for Halloween, since I would look fairly convincing.

ANYWAYS... Hey bloggers, it's Monday.

So, I'm not a big user of quotes. I like them and all, but I prefer to use my own words to express myself, and I am terrible at memorization so I'll probably muck it up if I try to refer it. However, there are many people who I greatly admire and envy for their skill of words and prose. One man who did it extremely well, was Ralph Waldo Emerson.

"I hate quotations. Tell me what you know."

This is a quote that I really love, but it makes me somewhat a hypocrite. First of all, people might be confused of what Emerson is trying to state. What does he mean? Isn't he the master of inspirational quotes, why would he go off and say something like that? I believe that the reason is that he is tired that people are taking quotes and using it as an idea of their own. What he's saying means a lot of sense. For example, whenever I look at my yearbook and I see the senior quotes, I think that it is really silly. People are usually quoting things that are meant to be inspirational, and as if their high school life has been extremely successful. That is not the case, I think we all know that. Using quotes is an easy way to fall back onto something, without really using your own thoughts or feelings. A response from yourself actually means more instead one from someone you don't even know. I agree that quotes are useful and helpful, especially if it's from someone we admire. However, if we tried and break off our dependent streak, we can become great too.

That's my little bit, I hope you weren't bored or offended. And we all agree to disagree, correct?

Tenley, I'll read you tomorrow.

Michelle Likes Her Pencils Sharp

This is Michelle. Michelle is my 6-year-old little sister. Our age difference is 12 years apart.

So where do I start..? Well first, she is going to be a 1st grader this upcoming fall. She's a hardheaded and stubborn person, who likes to throw tantrums almost over anything. Still, she can be a sweet and kind kid and I still love her. We're very close, and she always bugs me to sharpen her pencils for her, which I always do. We do favors for each other. I make her stuff to eat when she's hungry or whatever and she helps me get what I need when I'm too lazy to get up.

It's kind of hard to talk about your sibling, how do I sum up six years of craziness in writing..? Just like to say that the transition of being an only child to being almost a second mother wasn't that bad or hard at all. If I describe some of the experiences I've had, it might turn you all off, but it was all worth it.

Also, Michelle means "who is like God". That pretty much sums up her personality.

IT'S MONDAYYYYYY.

Hi bloggers, it's Monday.
Before I really start, I would like to share this poem with you all.

Monday's child is fair of face,
Tuesday's child is full of grace,
Wednesday's child is full of woe,
Thursday's child has far to go,
Friday's child is loving and giving,
Saturday's child works hard for his/her living,
and that child that is born on Sabbath day
Is bonny and blithe, and good and gay.

I am a self-proclaimed Thursday's child, so even though I write on Mondays, I am completely Thursday. If that makes any sense.

So, I'm not very good at introductions because I never know what kind of impression I want to leave when meeting new people, but here it goes anyway.
My name is Jasmine and I am eighteen years old. I'm just a Chinese-American girl living in California, born and raised. I'm planning to go to a community college this upcoming fall, and then transfer to a four-year university. I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to nerds, but what I see I love so far. Am I boring you yet? I should really just make a list to make this sweet and simple.
OH LOOK A LIST.
- Very pro-gay: I'm a straight ally.
- Music is my hot boyfriend and more (favorites include Leonard Cohen, Conor Oberst, Smashing Pumpkins, way too many to fit in this tiny blog)
- Fashion-oriented: I love clothes. I admire beauty and I'm not one myself but I am attracted to beautiful things and people.
- Food: I'm a wannabe foodie. As in I'm too poor to live like one, but Chicago is on my top foodie city list.
More information
I found about Nerdfighters when a friend told me to read Looking For Alaska and then told me to check out Vlogbrothers, so it was all very direct. I wasn't wandering around the net, and then BAM, oh look Nerdfighers. I'm glad I followed my friend's suggestion, otherwise, I would be oblivious to all this awesome.

Tenley, I'll read you tomorrow. :)
