So, here's the thing about valentines day... I'm a cynic and a skeptic and while I think the idea of telling the people you love you love them is a great one I think the fact that we need an excuse, some reason to do what we should do every chance we get (I mean saying the words, not giving meaningless gifts, is, on some level, sick. Valentines day isn't a day of love, not really... unless it's a love for commerce and capitalism (said the socialist)... the day for loving people is everyday so... ugh. Telling people you love them on valentines day is really only filling in social convention and expectation, something that makes the words, if only expressed that one day, meaning less...

Valentines Day, Everyday

Hey girls, it's Tuesday! My head hurts, also I'm tired, also I have homework, also I'm at a good part in "Anna and the French Kiss". All of these are reasons this is going to be kind of short, but additionally it's because the theme is Valentines Day and I don't really have much to say about Valentines Day. It's not that I hate Valentines Day, I think it's awesome (although I think every holiday that involves eating candy is awesome) but what else is there to say?

Although I don't hate Valentines Day I do agree with what John said in his video yesterday which was something along the lines of, why do you need a holiday to remind you to like your significant other? (I can't be bothered to look up the exact quote). But seriously? Valentines Day can be fun, but why should it only be one day a year? Everyday should be Valentines Day. Not in the give people flowers and candy kind of way, but in the "hey, I genuinely love you" kind of way.

On a less rant-ish note, those candies with the strawberry cream inside them are the best things in the world.

Katie is Rather Frustrated

Hey girs, It's Sunday!
So I almost finished my blog, when my cat jumped on my keyboard and closed the tab.... I'm rather upset.
Today I woke up, showered, got dressed, went to church, ate a waffle, went to the grocery store, bought some stuff, did half of my homework, freaked out about something that isn't true, made pesto bruchetta, ate the aforementioned pesto bruchetta, studied japanese, made brownie cookies, watch the grammies/Worst Cooks while texting Kenneth for about three hours, decided what I was going to wear tomorrow, started to blog, almost finished the blog, had cat jump on keyboard, yelled at cat, hugged cat, and started writing the blog again. This is going to be considerably shorter.
This Weeks Theme is VALENTINES DAY!
I like Valentines Day. Can you guess why? Its because...
A. I have a boyfriend whom I love and we have wild passionate sex on this day
B. I will be asked out by the guy I like tomorrow
C. I have a thing for days named after Saints
D. I get chocolate from my mother and I make cupcakes

Hello, people!

So it´s Guest Blogger week… And I’m here… guest blogging…

But, since you don’t know who I am, I might just introduce myself. :D

My name’s Emilia, I’m thirteen years old and I’ve been a nerdfighter since December, 2010. I was probably a nerdfighter before though; I just didn’t know it… Like most people out there. But even though I was a nerdfighter then, I only started watching the vlogbrothers videos in January, this year. I watched seven hundred seventy seven of them in three weeks… And I’m not even going to try and hide it… I’m pretty god darn proud of it…

I’m not even ashamed to say I discovered them through Charlie and Alex and Tom and Edd…guys who I fangirl over a lot. Not that I particularly like fangirling over anyone, but… I can’t really help it…

ON TO THE RAMBLING:

I recently taught a friend of mine what a nerdfighter was and since I didn’t really know how to explain it to her, I sent her a bunch of videos so that she could watch them. She didn’t see any of them so I had to try my best at explaining it to her (I’m no good at explaining, by the way)… and *victory music* a new nerdfighter! Yeah, you can all thank me later ;).

This actually leads me to another topic that has been in my mind for a very long time now: Nerdfighter Secrets. Mostly everyone knows about them, but if you don’t, here’s a brief description:

Nerdfighter Secrets: A website where people (nerdfighters) post “secrets” about how they feel on certain topics, mostly about themselves and their interaction with the community of Nerdfighteria.

The problem is, most secrets go with things like this “Since I don’t watch Doctor Who / read Harry Potter, I can’t be a nerdfighter” or “I like sports, does that make me a bad nerdfighter?” Short answer: No, it doesn´t.

Nerdfighteria isn’t about watching Doctor Who or reading Harry Potter… it’s about decreasing world suck and increasing world awesome. If you want to do those things you are already a nerdfighter. Watching Doctor Who, playing sports and reading Harry Potter, are just some of the things you may have in common with some nerdfighters. But I bet there are a lot out there who don’t like Harry Potter either. My friend, for example, she doesn’t even know who Doctor Who is, so… yeah, you can find some common ground…

That’s all I have to say…

Hello wonderful viewers of the Internet! This is such a vast place, isn’t it?

Hi, my name is Matt, and Hannah has asked me to be her wonderful (maybe I added that) guest on this blog. Of course, since I LOVE technology and the Internet, I said, “I would love to!” Plus, since today is her day (Yay!), I find myself more excited.

So, what do I like? I’m glad you asked, person with hand motions going “What?”

I’m mostly into technology, making videos, the Internet, acting, music, and entertainment, really! I like to be entertained. I really am into filmmaking as well, considering I also like to direct.

But! Here are some things about Hannah I really like:

1) Her sense of humor. I like it!

2) Her personality overall. This pretty much covers it all. She’s just an awesome person!

So what made this week exciting for it to boil on down to this Friday today? Oh, did you know? Today is actually Friday! Not Tuesday you crazy……people. Anyways! You want to know why my week was exciting?

Here’s a few things I find interesting, and also kind of pet peeves:

1.     When people say height and make it sound like heighth. It’s not HEIGHTH!!!!! IT’S HEIGHT!!! “T” SOUND!

2.     When people use the wrong there/their/they’re. It drives me so freaking crazy it’s not even funny.

3.     Same with your/you’re.

4.     Sneezes can feel nice. Never understood it.

5.     Why people don’t use their turn signals. What!?

6.     Same with headlights. It’s dark, you can’t see!

7.     Know-it-alls. Most of the time they don’t know.

8.     Why there are interstate highways in Hawaii. Last I checked, it was in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. But maybe our 2012 demise (yeah, like that’s going to happen!) has pushed the state closer. I don’t know!

9.     Verizon now has iPhone!

There are lots more but this list would be in the hundreds, let me tell you. These are just minute things I found this week.

Did I mention I love Apple? I hope I did, because I do. Oh so much, I do!

So, as this….interesting blog post comes to a close, I’d like to thank Hannah for allowing to guest blog on this wonderful blog that I read almost everyday! I would if Monday girl was here…....

When it comes to blogging, I find the most beneficial thing to do is to have fun when you blog. When you aren’t, it just makes the whole post seem so….empty. And I’ve noticed I’ve done a lot of this……… I’ll try to stop that. So, now I’d like to end with a quote:

Haley Whips Her HURR

HI! It's Thursday.  I will now let my wonderful friend (by "wonderful friend" I mean adoring slave) Katie  take it away:


Hello, bloggers. 

I am Katie.  I like Harry Potter, the internet, and other nerdy stuff so I think that I will fit right in on this blog.  I am also Haley's "best friend".  I don't think that it is okay to call me her best friend because, obviously, she is much too cool for me.  Now, I'm going to list off reasons why Haley is cool because this is her blog and I think that it would be very nice of me. Prepare yourselves. 

• Haley is really, really. smart.  Every time she opens her mouth she spews incredible knowledge.  Just today she said, "I WHIP MY HURR BACK AND FORTH!" while shaking her head around. Can you say genius? 
• Haley has a million + infinity friends.  I can barely even sit by her at lunch because her table is crowded by adoring fans.  I don't blame them, though.
• Haley is THE BEST DANCER in the universe.  Refer to point one.
• Haley is super awesome.  When she walks down the hallway people gawk at her,  drool dripping down their chins.  I would know, I do it too!

As you may be able to tell, I am kidding.  I bet you couldn't tell, though, I am just that sly.  Haley really is smart and awesome.  But... the dancing thing I am not too sure of.  Maybe I will list some things that are serious about Haley.  (Then I won't seem like a huge b*tch!)

• She is actually really smart. 4.0 STUDENT, BABY.
• She is HILARIOUS. 
• We can nerd out together.  (And by that I mean we can be complete losers and not give a crap about what other people think.)
• She has swagger.
• She is my best friend.

So now you know the real Haley.  I hope you are happy that I told you about that.

Hey girls, it's wednesday... in accordance with the theme, well, here:

Greetings humans and various extraterestrial intelegences stealing our internet. This is Robby Brothers and as you probably know, I’m Emily’s boyfriend. I have never written a blog in my life, unless you count the one I wrote for Katie a couple of years ago, which was pretty much nothing more than a pathetic attempt at writing something in code. As is such, writing blogs is among the list of things that I know almost nothing about, which makes this a little bit weird.

Now in the words of a chemistry teacher of mine, let’s talk about something completely different.

I’ve decided I’m, going to talk about something I know a lot about.

Sports,

And by sports I mean scifi.

Scifi is something that I hold very nearly and dearly to my heart (as is obvious by the carefully organized stacks of Star Trek VHS in my closet) and is the main reason that I have the friends that I have today. The reason why is best explained in Doctor Who.

Since scifi is such a general category, the only criteria really being that it take place in the future or with futuristic ideas, it can really contain almost every single other genre in the known universe (and the unknown for that mater). Doctor Who has been able to use this over the past 47 years three months and 18 days. In that time they’ve been able to create horror shows, drama, suspense, action, and some freaking awesome comedy.

This universal appeal should be, well universally liked, but for some reason it isn’t, which kind of confuses me.

This is the place were there was supposed to be some big motivational or inspiring ending, but I kind of forgot it in the process of writing this. This is why I don’t blog.

Just be thankful I didn’t do my shpeal on quantum mechanics.

So, that's that.
