“Procrastination is the bad habit of putting of until the day after tomorrow what should have been done the day before yesterday.”

-Martin Luther King

So true Martin, and yet we all wish that it wasn't.

Hey bloggers it's Thursday.

If you couldn't tell by my half exasperating, and half hella confusing quote, I have put off this blog post a bit.  My reason: I am extremely tired.

You may be thinking, 'Oh Haley, she has probably been asleep all day and has now woken up just to humor us with her less than satisfactory blog posts.'  If you thought that you would be completely wrong, and I would have pulled the wool over your eyes.  In truth I have been lazily reading, and watching the 80 something videos that have cluttered up my subscription.  Sorry girls... Forgive me?  :)

Those of you who care might be wondering why I am so tired.  The reason is that I have been on vacation.  In the dry and scenery lacking Central Oregon.  Trust me, I liked it, but it was a bit... bland?

Here is a picture of where I was:

And here is a picture that doesn't make it look quite as ugly:

I am used to more of this:

(This is a very colorful picture that shows my city, and it isn't very bland.)

Here is a picture of our pretty nature:

Here is the city, and one of my favorite places in the world:

Can you see why I thought that the scenery could have been a lot prettier?  By the by, have any of you girls noticed that I cover up my short writings with pictures?  If you haven't noticed then you forget that I ever said that. ;)

Is anyone reading this (though I doubt that anyone has gone this far) opposed to over babbling? If you are speak now or forever hold your peace... No one?  Okay then, I'll go ahead.

I'll tell you a bit about my trip.  It was only a three hour car ride to get there, but it seemed really long in the hot car.  Once we got there we rode bikes a lot, and swam.  Lindsay fell off her bike and on to my friend Katie while zooming down a hill and she scraped her body of pretty badly.  Katie got out with only a small scratch as a battle wound. At the swimming pool I decided to act like my complete moronic self and I stood under one of those baby wading pool fountains that proceeded to stand under the spot where the bucket pours completely over your head.(Shown here.  That red and yellow thing that has buckets to dump mass amounts of water on small children's heads.)

While there I discovered that after seeing a bajillion of them, deer aren't so cute anymore, and they just become a natural thing.  I also discovered that Katie doesn't hate the look of babies as much as she thought because she 'awwed' at most all of them that came around.  I discovered that I should learn how to articulate my speech better.  (Sort of like the whole "I want my smack" thing?  Anyone understand that?  Giver, anyone?)  I discovered that trying to get chlorine out of your hair, when you're just going to go swimming again tomorrow, was a complete lost cause.  Maybe you will now think that I came sort of in to a few epiphanies while on this trip?  You'd be wrong though, because I discover a lot of things, but I've never come in to an epiphany.

I've decided to put a quote in here about discoveries, just to adhere to the theme.

"All truths are easy to understand once  they are discovered; the point is to discover them."
- Galileo Galilei

Did that quote work?   I just googled "discovery quotes."  That was cheating, and I am aware of it.  The point of the theme was probably to tell you about a quote that spoke to me, but the thing is, I love quotes, because they help me connect my life to other things, like books, and other nerdy/geeky things, but quotes don't usually speak to me that strongly.  What I'm really trying to say is that I don't like quotes much.  Forgive me for that, I said that wrong.  I love quotes, I just hate the act of quoting others in a public state.  I'm very sorry if this quote hurts anyone's feelings, I really don't want anyone hating me in this collab, because they themselves love quoting the wise words of other's publicly, but I found this quote and it actually DID speak to me.

He who trains his tongue to quote the learned sages, will be known far and wide as a smart ass.
-- Howard Kandel, Unknown , Unknown

This theme truly has shown me that while I kind of hate it, I am a girl that likes to quote.  Even though I'm a hardcore googler when it comes to finding the quotes, I still love them.  A geek if there ever was one, I suppose?  :) Maybe I should stop working against myself?  Maybe that is what this theme has shown me?  That I don't work for myself, but instead against myself?

While Lindsay was torturing me by being on the computer, so therefore I couldn't be, right after I had finished my book so that I  had nothing to do, I was writing a story.  I'm not exactly sure where the story is going, but it will go somewhere if I ever get to finish it.

I also found a book called Big Wisdom: Little Book  it is a book full of quotes.  As I was flipping through the book I decided to go to the last page.  The quote there said, "The art of the quoter is to know when to stop "-Robertson Davies.

Now that I've realized that I'm a hardcore quoter, and I kind of hate it.  I've also discovered that Robertson Davies is a very smart man.  Robertson Davies sort of helped me have a mini epiphany.  I don't have to like the fact that I like to quote, but that won't change the fact that I do.

Now that I've managed to write about nothing that anyone ever will care about ever I bid you goodbye.  I doubt that anyone will get to the end of this post, but I don't really care. :)

Thank you Emily, I don't exactly know how, or why, but your theme has taught me a lesson.  I don't exactly know what the lesson is though.   I loved it. :)

Hannah, I will read you tomorrow.

Currently  Just finished Reading: Geektastic: Stories from the Nerd Herd

Hope that no one hates me for writing such a terribly boring blog post.

By the by, I don't know what's wrong with the font.  I don't know why one part of it is in a different font, but it won't go to normal.

  2. I agree, I don't like using quotes when I could be using my own words, but still, I find myself using quotes a lot... perhaps more than my own words.

Also, just the way I wrote that makes me think it seem like a quote, but its not, well it is, but its a quote from me... so its okay.

  3. Exactly Tenley. I feel like when I quote I'm trying to be someone else. Like I'm stealing the genius things that others say. Of course I'm not, but I still feel like it.

Still quotes are fun, and they make me feel like I've taken in a bit of wisdom that I didn't have before.

  4. I'm still reading Haley! I got the Giver quote too. I don't use quotes all that often unless I'm in an argument with someone else and I have one handy.
